Imagine standing on the casting deck of a flats skiff and seeing a wave of torpedoes approaching. Don't worry, they are not torpedoes, but if you can hook one, they will explode. The dark backs represent giant tarpon from 80 to well over 100lbs and they are within casting range. Just make the cast and sell your fly. If they don't eat, relax. You will see more.
Stacy and I have spent some time on the flats and around the bridges between Islamorada and Key West. Our good friend and guiding associate Capt. Eric Lund along with Capt. Jeremy Fischer have hosted us in the past. We are planning a trip with them in May 2011. The focus will be on fly fishing for the giant migrating tarpon. Bonefish, permit, jacks, snook, barracuda, redfish, snapper and more are also available. We've been there and had a great time and we'd like to share.
The dates have been set. We will be fishing for 5 days from May 2-6. Arrival in Islamorada on Sunday May 1st with departure on the following Saturday or Sunday morning.
Please contact Fred if you are interested as soon as possible.
